Light, and where it falls
A lighting plan is not a list of fittings. It is a decision about what you want to see, and when.

Most houses are over-lit and under-considered: a grid of downlights that makes every surface the same and every face look tired. We start the other way round, with the daylight, and plan around how it moves through the house.
After that, layers. A lamp for reading, a pendant for the table, a wash of light on a wall you like, and the ability to turn each of them off. Switches matter as much as fittings; nobody wants to cross a room to make it feel like evening.
The best compliment we get is that a house looks lovely at night from the street. That is the lighting plan doing its job.
