Rooms people linger in
What we put on the tables of a bar and a client lounge, from the glass in the hand to the chair by the window.

A bar or a lounge is judged in the first minute and remembered for the last drink. Most of that is the room: the light, the seat, the noise. The rest is in the hand.
So we specify the small things as carefully as the millwork. A glass with some weight to it. Tools a bartender is glad to use in front of guests. A lamp on each table rather than a downlight over it. And in a client lounge, coffee made properly and a chair people sink into.
None of it is decoration. Each piece does its job dozens of times a night, which is exactly why it has to be good.
The pieces
Each one links to its maker.

Bellhop Table Lamp
Barber Osgerby's cordless lamp, first made for the Design Museum in London. Rechargeable and dimmable, so every table in the bar gets its own pool of light.

Danuta Double Rocks Glass
A plain, heavy-bottomed rocks glass with a soft curve, big enough for one large cube and a generous pour. It feels right in the hand on the second drink.

Yarai Mixing Glass
The heavy, diamond-cut mixing glass its maker calls the workhorse of the bar industry. It stirs two drinks and looks right on the back bar between rounds.

Koriko Weighted Shaking Tins
A pair of 18/8 stainless tins with weighted bases, so they seal fast, part cleanly and stand steady on a wet bar top.

Linea Micra
La Marzocco's café machine scaled down: two boilers, a rotary pump and its own water tank, so it needs no plumbing. Real espresso in a client lounge, without a barista.

Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman
Charles and Ray Eames's moulded plywood and leather, in production since 1956. In a lounge it says 'sit down and stay' more clearly than any sofa.
