Velomelodic
Velomelodic makes software instruments: synthesizers and effects for producers and sound designers. We designed five plug-ins, the identity they share and the site they are sold from, for people who make music at home, late, with headphones on.
The instruments
- Medrone, a modulation synth
- Orbit Weave, a matter-field synth
- Phase Lattice, a phase modulation synth
- Zylodelay, a delay instrument
- Zyloverb, a spring reverb synth
Each plug-in is laid out the way it is played. Medrone is a modulation synth with six-operator FM, a 16-step sequencer and an XY pad; Orbit Weave is built around a field of moving matter you push, pull and disturb as you play; Phase Lattice bends waveforms against each other across a grid and draws the result as a moving surface.
Controls follow the signal from left to right, with the keyboard along the bottom, so learning one teaches the rest. Four are on sale now at velomelodic.com, which we designed and built alongside them, with free trials to download.
The brand
The VM symbol is one continuous line, a waveform running through the V and into the M. It is set on deep navy, so the identity, the plug-ins and the site all sit comfortably in a room lit mostly by screens.
