The café opened in 1974 with one roaster, one grinder and a grilled cheese. Two of those are still going.

Jupiter opened in the spring of 1974 in a former hardware store, with a second-hand roaster in the window and a sign painted by a neighbour. The sign is at the Roastery now; the roaster is still going.
The grilled cheese was on the first menu because it was the only thing the founders could cook. It has never come off. Neither has the habit of roasting on Tuesdays so the weekend coffee is at its best.
