Steeping oolong five times
The carton says up to five steeps. People think we are exaggerating. We are not.
Tightly rolled oolong opens slowly. The first steep is mostly roast; the second is honey; the third is where the orchid note arrives; the fourth and fifth are lighter, sweeter, and the leaves are finally open in the pot.
Use a small pot, a lot of leaf, water just off the boil, and keep the steeps short. Pour everything out each time.
It is the most tea you will ever get out of ten grams.
